Southwest Woodworks is family owned and operated along with my wife and two sons. I am originally from Grayson County in the southwest section of Virginia. After high school, I attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, where I graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. I have now been in the New River Valley for over 20 years. My engineering experience spans over 25 years working in the main disciplines of manufacturing, quality, and design. In my senior year of high school, I took an interest in woodworking. This led into an interest in construction. In 2000, I acquired my Class C contractor’s license in Virginia. In 2008, I upgraded this license to a Class A. With the acquisition of a 3 axis CNC router, I decided to bring my engineering, contracting, and woodworking together to create Southwest Woodworks.
